BSF (Bootstrapping Server Function)

To provide mutual authentication of end user devices and mobile network application servers, our portfolio also includes a BSF (Bootstrapping Server Function). BSF is standardized in the 3GPP standard for GAA (Generic Authentication Architecture) and GBA (Generic Bootstrapping Architecture). A BSF may generally provide authentication for all different sorts of applications, for example mobile TV and mobile banking.

OMA BCAST Smartcard Profile

Especially in mobile TV scenarios based on OMA BCAST Smartcard Profile, a BSF is mandatory to provide for the authentication between the mobile devices, the SPP (service purchase and protection) and the HSS (home subscriber service) or HLR (home location register) of the mobile network operator.

Integration and protocols

The castLabs BSF is fully compatible with the 3GPP standard and supports all relevant protocols, such as SS7, SIGTRAN and DIAMETER.
