UltraViolet™ Product Suite
castLabs is one of the pioneers in the development of UltraViolet™ services and applications. This includes:
- UltraViolet™ Download Service Provider (DSP) Service
The DSP is the main building block of our UltraViolet™ offering. It facilitates the content download to the customers, the interaction with the UltraViolet™ coordinator and the license delivery to all approved DRMs (CMLA-OMA, PlayReady™, Adobe™ Access, Marlin, and Widevine).
- UltraViolet™ Common File Format (CFF) encoding tool
The CFF tool creates UltraViolet™ compliant content files from e.g. MPEG 4 input. If you are a content provider, use this tool to setup your workflow for the UltraViolet™ ecosystem.
- UltraViolet™ Retailer Integration Proxy
This product allows any retailer a quick integration into the UltraViolet™ ecosystem. The Retailer Integration Proxy is an SDK that handles all UltraViolet™ specific interaction between the retailer and the UltraViolet™ coordinator, DSP, (LASP), and device.
- UltraViolet™ Device & UltraViolet™ Client SDK
Please find a more detailed description of our client features in the section "Video Player Technology"
- UltraViolet™ Multi DRM service for LASPs
This product supports all UltraViolet™ specific functionalities for your streaming service.
The heart of our UltraViolet™ Product Suite, the DSP service, consists of a backend and a front end. The backend provides DRM agnostic UltraViolet™ services, such as talking to the UltraViolet™ coordinator and CDN services. The frontend provides DRM specific services such as license delivery. For a fully functional DSP service, a DSP backend and at least one DSP frontent is required. For example, to support CMLA-OMA and PlayReady, the DSP backend, the CMLA-OMA frontend, and the PlayReady frontend are needed.
As soon as Adobe Flash Access, Marlin and WideVine become "deployment ready" in UltraViolet™, castLabs will add those DRMs also to their product suite.
