DVB-H Italy

In order to provide mobile TV services for the new Nokia N96 device, castLabs has delivered its Video Service Delivery Platform to H3G Italy and has integrated it in cooperation with accenture with the local broadcasting and backend infrastructures based in Milano.

The headend, operated by La Tre itself, is equipped with the castLabs mobile TV components, which provide ESG management, offer management and the conditional access system in a carrier grade high availability environment. Other components include technology from our partner company GMIT.

The system features a seamless integration of DVB-H broadcasting technology and multiple backend systems of the mobile network operator 3 Italia. With 1.2 Mio subscribers, Italy is the country with the highest number of DVB-H subscribers worldwide.
